Sound is something that begins with sound waves. Think you are punching a stick on a stone. It will make a sound and that because when you are hiding on the stone, it makes sound waves. This sound waves are getting into your ear and bringing your drumhead, which you have in your ear, to swing. Because of that you can hear the sound of the stick.
